Are you ready to learn from some of the best miniaturists in our industry? How about a teeny tiny salad? Or your own spice village? Maybe a mini piñata is more your speed? Well not to worry because we are thrilled to be offering EIGHT different workshops at our 2027 show!

Workshops for adults will be held Friday, February 5th, 2027 at the University of San Diego – Hahn University Center. There are morning and afternoon classes all well suited for every level of mini-maker! What will you choose?

Adult Workshop Details:
- Pre-registration is required
- Class size is limited
- Registration will be confirmed in the order received until full
- Payment by PayPal only. If you don’t have PayPal choose the Guest Option.
- Please note: Registration is NOT complete without full payment.
- Registrants will receive a confirmation email from Maria Ray, Workshop Chair. Please check your junk folder if you feel you haven’t heard from her.
- No cancellations unless by the instructor, a full refund will be issued.
- Workshops are in the Hahn University Center downstairs. There are stairs and an elevator. Workshop room numbers will be posted.
- USD Parking fees apply as posted. It is suggested workshop students use the parking structure.
BAKER’S RACK
Instructor: Karen Aird, Karen’s Doll House Shop
Students will have a choice to make a Christmas or Halloween Baker’s Rack. Each option will include decorating the basic rack with items shown for that holiday. For the Christmas rack, students will learn to use resin to make holiday punch and milk; 3 bottles of potion will be made with resin for the Halloween option. 1:12 Scale.

CAESAR SALAD
Instructor: Taylor Diebold, Teeny Tiny Taylor
Students will create a realistic Caesar salad using polymer clay, uv resin and chalk pastels along with a variety of other tools and materials.

DECORATIVE CHRISTMAS TABLE
Instructor: Volker Arnold
Students will assemble a decorative table with a pullout front and a folding chair. Afterwards they will put together numerous typical German miniatures to decorate the table according to the own preferences. All items included.

Tools required: cutting pad, tweezers and wood glue.
TROPICAL DESSERT
Instructor: Betinha Murta, Betinha Murta Miniatures
Students will make a beautiful tray with fruits and a fabulous ice cream parfait. Students will also learn to work with UV resin and how cold porcelain is made to create tiny masterpieces.

FIVE STAR PINATA
Instructor: Alondra Zarate, Minis Mexico
Students will create a festive piñata. It will be hollow and can be filled with miniature candy (not included in this class). You can make a traditional piñata, character piñata or birthday piñata. Students will also create a stick to go with their piñata.
1pm – 5pm

FRUIT CAKE
Instructor: Betinha Murta, Betinha Murta Miniatures
Students will learn to work with cold porcelain to create a delicious orange themed cake, perfect for any occasion. Betinha will guide the class with techniques on transforming cold porcelain into frosting, oranges and more!
1pm – 5pm

GRANNY IN THE GARDEN
Instructor: Maria Ray, My Dolly’s Bebe
Students will receive a 5 ½” partially assembled hand painted porcelain doll to dress. Instructions, patterns, and all materials to complete the dress are included. She’ll have a hat, flowerpot and tools to work in the garden!
1pm – 5pm

Tools required: a basic sewing kit, craft glue and scissors.
LENOX SPICE VILLAGE
Instructor: Kelly Trichter, Melvin’s Miniatures
Students will make a 1:12 scale Lenox Spice Village set while also learning how Kelly uses cutting machines to make miniatures. Kelly will share tips and tricks while demonstrating with her machines.
1pm – 5pm

Tools required: craft knife, cutting mat, optional task light and magnifying glasses.
Pre-Registered Workshops: Friday, February 5, 2027, University of San Diego – Hahn University Center, 5998 Alcala Park Way, San Diego CA 92110. Workshops are held in the conference rooms directly downstairs from the Miniatures Show. There are stairs and an elevator.
IMPORTANT: Workshop size is limited. Adults only. Registration will be confirmed in the order received. Registration is not complete until paid.
No refunds/cancellations unless workshop is cancelled by instructor or San Diego Miniatures Show.
Parking fees apply. Please follow signage. It is suggested workshop students use the nearby parking structure.
Kids Workshops: Workshops for young mini-makers will be offered both Saturday and Sunday. Kids must be between 8-12 years old.
What’s a Make’n Take for kids? An opportunity to introduce kids to mini making!
These Make’n Take Workshops are designed for children 8-12, the child may be asked to show their wristband.
This Make’n Take Workshop is FREE. Class is limited to 12 students.
Registration must be done in person at the Workshop Table under the archway in the sales room. First-come-first-served seating.
